Stoneware, raised-relief decoration. This stein features the Roman god of the sea, Neptune, resting on a raging sea. To the left waves crash against the base of a lighthouse and to the right a ship braves the stormy seas. The entire stein is skillfully handpainted with color and gold leaf accents. Rope and knots border the top and bottom of the stein along with various nautical themed items. A mermaid figurehead forms the handle of the stein and a conical pewter lid completes the piece. This is a large .75L stein standing about 12 inches.
